GOOGLE LENS PLATFORM
Pioneering the Future of Visual Search
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT | WEB | FILM | IMMERSIVE
From 2018 to 2020, Google developed a new immersive platform allowing brands and creators to build their own experiences on top of Google Lens. They called it the Google Lens Platform. The product was a key step in making our physical environment “clickable” and more interactive. It enabled countless use cases turning our “real” world into an interactive canvas.
The Google AR product team needed help to develop relevant use cases, inspire top partners and develop a creative framework for this new platform. Matthieu Lorrain was tasked with leading that creative endeavor from the early days of the alpha version to the full commercialization with global brands.
Over the course of 18 months, Matthieu partnered closely with product teams to pioneer the very first creative work ever developed for the Google Lens Platform. He led the ideation and prototyping of 16 original experiences.
Beyond the early use case definition, Matthieu then embarked on a journey pitching and collaborating with several global brands to launch unique pilots taking advantage of the new technology.
Matthieu Lorrain was the executive creative director for the overall Lens Platform creative development. He oversaw use case definition, art direction and execution leading a team of creative directors (Aurora Straton, Franc Cheetam and Sunny Kwok) and coordinating production with the digital production company Mediamonks.
